Academy Financial Benefit Services has long been a contributor to the Baltimore/Washington Corridor. Founded by Joseph Morgan, Harry Horn and Michael Ward ten years ago, the business has always found ways to give back to the community where we work and live.
A majority of our contributions in the form of time, knowledge or capital stem from individual and group participation in charitable organizations and activities that have local, regional and national affiliation.
This year alone we have supported a number of non-profits in their pursuit of mission implementation for the benefit of those they serve. Here is a sampling of our efforts:
JOSEPH K. MORGAN, CRPC®, LUTCF
- Vice President of the Alumni Association for the Jemicy School in Ownings Mills, MD. He also serves as a board member at the school.
- Board Member to the Morgan Family Foundation, and assists the organization in support of their annual charity golf tournament.
- Founding Board Member of the Odyssey School for Dyslexic children located in Baltimore, Maryland. The Odyssey School just celebrated their fifteenth anniversary, and Joe was active on the Board of the school for ten years consecutively following the school's founding.
- Head Coach of the Kelly Post Tyker Travel Girls Lacrosse Team in Towson, Maryland.
- Past Board Member of The Dyslexia Tutoring Program of Maryland.

- Cockeysville Recreational Council Lacrosse Program Coach.

- Treasurer and Board Member of the Carson Scholars Fund.
- Past Chairman of the Board for the Friendship School.
- Past Treasurer and Board Member of the NAIFA Charitable Foundation.
- Past President and Board Member of the Baltimore Life Underwriters Association.
- Received the George S. Robertson Award for accomplishment and service, which is given annually to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding commitment through their actions to the financial services industry in the Baltimore area.
- Past Board Member of the Baltimore Estate Planning Council.
HARRY HORN, CLU®, ChFC®, CRPC®
- Received George S. Robertson Award for accomplishment and service, which is given annual to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding commitment through their actions to the financial services industry in the Baltimore area.
- He is a Past President of the Baltimore Life Underwriters Association.
